| Jazz band arrangement commissioned for Freda Payne performance at Clint Eastwood Gala |
Brent Edstrom arranged a jazz big-band version of Billy Strayhorn's "Lush Life" for Freda Payne. The chart will be performed at a Gala Ball for Clint Eastwood at the Beverly Hilton on November 2, 2008. LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Clint Eastwood, the legendary international cinema icon, will be honored with The Thalians 53rd annual lifetime achievement award on Sunday, November 2 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel for his lifetime of contributions to entertainment as well as his humanitarian accomplishments. The award will be presented to Eastwood at The Thalians Ball, an evening which raises funds for the Thalians Mental Health Center at Cedars Sinai Hospital. The annual gala is co-hosted by The Thalians founding members Debbie Reynolds and Ruta Lee. This year’s event will be emceed by comedian and television star George Lopez, along with several other special celebrity guests. |
| New book for Oxford University Press |
| Edstrom recently signed a contract to write a book on the topic of audio recording for Oxford University Press. The book, which is geared towards musicians, educators, and others with little or no training in audio recording, will focus on using modest tools to create high-quality recordings. |

| Brent Edstrom was recently hired to perform with jazz vocalist Freda Payne at concerts in the Seattle area, Las Vegas, and Houston Texas. Ms. Payne will perform her "Tribute To Ella" show. |

| The Coeur d' Alene symphony premiered Brent Edstrom’s new piano concerto on December 1, 2007. The 45 minute work, which featured both jazz and classical elements, was greeted by a standing ovation and encore. |

| Brent Edstrom performed with Rolling Stones saxophonist Tim Reis and the Spokane Symphony Orchestra. Reis received a standing ovation for his performance of Yoshimatsu's "Cyberbird." For an encore, Reis performed a duet version of "Ruby Tuesday" with Edstrom. |

| A third book of Oscar Peterson transcriptions has been completed for Hal Leonard Publishing. The book is now in the editing stage and will feature note-for note transcriptions and solo recreations in a “play along” format. |
